That is why this February in honor of Valentine's Day, we would like to share with you some information about just three of the charitable organizations we are proud to sponsor.
The GVFBS is a non-profit organization that seeks to "empower people to nourish themselves by providing access to healthy food, education and training." They provide assistance to over 28,000 people. There are many ways you can help their efforts in the fight against hunger. You can donate money or food, volunteer, throw a food/fund drive or even host an event. With over 100 community agencies throughout Vancouver, Burnaby, New Westminster and North Vancouver, you are sure to find a location nearby.
Based in Vancouver's downtown eastside, the UGM is an urban relief organization that seeks to "demonstrate God's transforming love, ease the burden of the most vulnerable, rebuild the lives of the broken and offer dignity to those who feel cast aside." Through a variety of services including Emergency Shelter, Children and Family Programs, Meals, and Employment & Education. The UGM is a great organization that is "Feeding hope" and "Changing lives."
Kick For A Cure is a "childhood cancer initiative founded to raise awareness about childhood cancer and the need for increased funding towards paediatric cancer research." Since 2007 Kick for a Cure has been holding the Childhood Cancer Soccerfest made up of both Adult and Youth tournaments, as well as a Youth clinics. The funds they collect benefit the Michael Cuccione Foundation towards childhood cancer research. Like a soccer team, winning the battle again cancer involves "teamwork, spirit, strength and fight." Kick for a Cure aims to use the values and game of soccer to help raise awareness and funds for childhood cancer.
